SOUL CONCERN: SELF TITLED MEGA RARE XIAN FOLK PSYCH

Listed for your consideration is a Mega Rare Xian Folk Psych LP, "Soul Concern" on the "IV Four-Most" Record Label,FM7122CS. Supposedly, only 100 of these were released and there are believed to be only 3 or 4 known copies still in existence. Tracks include:Side 1Time and LoveEasy To Be HardReach Out And TouchSunshine DaySomething To Believe InSide 2I Wish I Knew How It Feels To Be FreeAnd I BelievedMightly Clouds Of JoyBridge Over Troubled WatersCome To JesusHistorians are supposed to put a lot of stock in graffiti as it is scrawled across the culture it describes. If that is so, future anthropologists should have fun figuring out what took place in the U.S. during the final third of the Twentieth Century. For awhile, the slogans seemed to catalogue the pessimism, despair, obscentity and hate of a people. Today it seems to have completed a cycle. The four letter word scribbled on the subway wall today is "hope". And it reflects a philosophy, lifestyle and attitude that is optimistic, positive and real. The Soul Concern, seven students from this scene, are part of this new phenomenon. They have some answers to the problems of urban society. Their music reflects this new mood. The songs are gut-level. Today is too vital, too real, for honey-coating. People are hurting. Deperate, aching, despised people with wrenching pain and no hope at all. Soul Concern . . . more than musicians . . . are not afraid to hold hands with humanity in need. They are willing to reach out and touch uptight people and try to help them out of their ordeal. These seven young people are part of a program that cares about people and helps them in the four basic areas of living - physical, social, spiritual and mental. The gorup represents Campus Life, a division of Youth for Christ, with headquarters in Wheaton, Illinois. To put this whole statement into perspective, we might say simply: Campus Life is on to something. They've got answers to some of the things kids are facing. By connecting with one of Cmapus Life's staff men or women, students are sorting out their lives and rearranging whatever is throwing them off balance. Actually, that's what Soul Concern is all about - helping people. They mean what they say on this recording.
